Robin Norsworthy and three staff started NOR Services in 1974, as a supplier of predominantly printing machines and office automation products. This was a family owned business and today is being run by his three children: Stephen, Jon and Ann Norsworthy and at the time of the acquisition had a market share of 35% in Cape Town with Antalis being their biggest competitor. Their main operation was in Cape Town.
During 2006 they opened a branch in Johannesburg that is managed by Raymond Blake. The business has grown year on year and the focus of the company shifted from machines to the supply of a wide selection of paper, board and sundry printing products (both local and imported) resulting in NOR becoming a "onestopshop" for the printing and allied trades as well as stationers and small business.
Bytes Document Solutions, a Bytes Technology group company, wholly owned by Altron, and the authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries, has acquired NOR Paper in 2008.
In 2009 NOR Paper has expanded into the Pretoria region.
